Manage your Analytics dashboards

Choose which dashboards your team sees in Analytics, put them in the right order, and set default filters for each one.

Overview

Dashboards are the chart pages shown as tabs in Analytics. Everything about them is managed from one place: Analytics › Manage dashboards. From there you can switch dashboards on or off, reorder tabs, duplicate a dashboard, change who it's shared with, and set the filters it opens with.

Your account's dashboard list includes:

  • Your own dashboards — created by your account

  • Dashboards shared by your parent account — if your account sits under another account

  • Deeper Signals dashboards — ready-made dashboards such as Core Drivers Insights and Core Values Insights, available when your account uses those assessments

Key benefits / use cases

  • Keep Analytics focused: Show only the dashboards your admins actually use

  • Control the tab order: Put the most important dashboard first

  • Scope a dashboard to the right people: Lock filters so a dashboard always shows, for example, only people who completed a specific assessment

  • Share with child accounts: Build a dashboard once and make it available to the accounts under yours

Before you start

Dashboard access is controlled by two permissions under Analytics – Assessment Insights in Settings › Manage Roles and Permissions:

Permission

What it lets you do

View assessment insights

Open Analytics, view dashboards and charts, use filters, see the people list, export CSVs and compare groups

Manage assessment insights

Open Manage dashboards to create, duplicate, edit, switch on or off, and reorder dashboards

Note: Account Owners have Manage assessment insights by default. You can give it to other admins with a custom role.

Open Manage dashboards

  1. Go to Analytics.

  2. Select Manage dashboards.

You'll see two sections:

  • Active — dashboards shown as tabs in your Analytics

  • Available — dashboards your account can use but that are currently switched off

Use the Origin filter to show All dashboards, only Yours, or only those from a specific account.

What the labels mean

  • Lock icon + account name — the dashboard is owned by another account (your parent account or Deeper Signals). You can use, preview and duplicate it, but not edit it.

  • Shared with child accounts — one of your own dashboards that's shared with the accounts directly under yours

  • No label — one of your own private dashboards

Switch a dashboard on or off

  1. In Manage dashboards, find the dashboard.

  2. Use its toggle to switch it on (moves to Active) or off (moves to Available).

Note: Switching a dashboard off only hides it from your account's Analytics tabs. It doesn't delete it, and it doesn't hide it from any other account — even if your account owns it.

Reorder your dashboard tabs

  1. In Manage dashboards, go to the Active section.

  2. Drag the dashboards into the order you want.

Note: Your order is used for the tabs in Analytics. If you've never set an order, your own dashboards appear first, followed by shared dashboards.

Create or duplicate a dashboard

Create a new dashboard

  1. Go to Analytics.

  2. Select Manage dashboards.

  3. Click +New dashboard.

  4. Give the dashboard a name.

  5. Select Blank dashboard if you want to start with an empty dashboard and add charts yourself. Select a template or duplicate an existing dashboard if you want to reuse charts from another dashboard.

  6. Select preferred visibility — Private (your account only) or Shared with child accounts (accounts directly under yours that you manage).

  7. Add Default filters — filters that are applied whenever the dashboard opens (optional)

  8. Click Create.

Duplicate an existing dashboard

Duplicating is the easiest way to customise a dashboard you can't edit, such as one shared by Deeper Signals.

  1. In Manage dashboards, open the dashboard's row menu.

  2. Select Duplicate.

Note: The copy is private to your account and fully editable. It won't pick up later changes made to the original.

Edit dashboard settings and default filters

  1. In Manage dashboards, open the dashboard's row menu.

  2. Select Dashboard settings.

  3. Update any of the following:

    • Dashboard name

    • Visibility — Private (your account only) or Shared with child accounts (accounts directly under yours, not their own child accounts)

    • Default filters — filters that are applied whenever the dashboard opens

  4. Click Save. Name, visibility and filters are saved together. Cancel discards your changes.

Locked vs unlocked default filters

Each default filter can be:

Type

What viewers see

Locked

The filter is always applied. Viewers can't remove or change it.

Unlocked

The filter is applied when the dashboard opens, but viewers can change or remove it.

To remove a default filter, click the × on its chip.

Tip: To show only people who finished a particular assessment, add a locked Completed assessment default filter. It applies to the charts, the people list and CSV exports.

Change who a dashboard is shared with

When you change a dashboard's visibility, you'll be asked to confirm:

  1. In Dashboard settings, change Visibility.

  2. Click Save.

  3. In the Change visibility? dialog, tick the confirmation box and click Proceed.

If the change removes access, the dialog tells you how many child accounts will lose the dashboard.

Important: You can't exclude a single child account from a dashboard shared with child accounts. To limit access, make the dashboard private and share a copy instead.

Delete a dashboard

  1. In Manage dashboards, open the dashboard's row menu.

  2. Select Delete.

Note: You can only delete dashboards your account owns. Deleting a shared dashboard removes it for every account it's shared with.

Troubleshooting

  • A dashboard disappeared from my Analytics tabs: Check the Available section in Manage dashboards — it may have been switched off. If it's not listed at all, the owner may have stopped sharing it, or your account may not have the related assessment enabled for analytics.

  • I can't edit a dashboard: Dashboards with a lock icon are managed by another account. Use Duplicate to make your own editable copy.

  • I don't see Manage dashboards: You need the Manage assessment insights permission. Ask your Account Owner.

  • A dashboard shows no data: Dashboards respect each admin's data access. An admin with access filters or limited visibility only sees data for the people they're allowed to see.

FAQs

What is the Overview dashboard?

Most accounts have an Overview dashboard. It was previously called “Dashboard”. It usually contains competency charts.

You can rename, edit, share or delete it like any of your own dashboards, and move it anywhere in your tab order.

If I switch off a dashboard I share with child accounts, do they lose it?

No. The toggle only affects your account's tabs. To stop sharing, change its Visibility to Private.

Why can't I find a Deeper Signals dashboard such as Core Values Insights?

Deeper Signals dashboards appear only when your account has the related assessment enabled for analytics. If you think it should be available, contact us at [email protected].
