The Core Drivers Diagnostic Overview

Learn how the Core Drivers diagnostic was developed, what it measures, and why it stands out from other assessments.

Updated this week

Overview

The Core Drivers diagnostic was developed using a rigorous scientific methodology, leveraging data from over 150,000 working adults, advanced psychometric methods, and machine learning techniques.

As a result, it is the shortest and most accurate measure of personality, designed to give individuals, teams, and organizations deep insight into how they think, relate, and perform at work.

Scores on the Core Drivers diagnostic correlate with widely recognized psychometric constructs and inventories, including:

  • The Big Five

  • The Dark Triad

  • The NEO PI-R

  • The Hogan Personality Inventory

In addition, scores correlate with important workplace outcomes such as employee engagement, counterproductive work behaviors, and manager ratings of job performance.

The diagnostic is based on the Five Factor Model β€” the most scientifically validated and defensible model of personality.

Assessment scope

The Core Drivers diagnostic contains six scales:

  • Agreeableness: The tendency to be candid or considerate

  • Conscientiousness: The tendency to be flexible or organized

  • Drive: The tendency to be laid back or driven

  • Extraversion: The tendency to be reserved or outgoing

  • Openness: The tendency to be pragmatic or curious

  • Emotional stability: The tendency to be passionate or stable

These six continuous traits create 12 dispositions. Each trait is further divided into five sub-drivers, for a total of 30 facets, allowing for nuanced insights into individual dispositions.

To complete the diagnostic, users respond to:

  • 30 behavioral statements

  • 60 forced-choice adjectives
