  1. Identify the core issue: Clearly state the problem you are facing. Be specific about the challenges and how they are affecting your team.

  2. Ask for actionable and specific advice: Emphasize the need for practical, non-obvious, and specific strategies. The AI may need to be reminded that general advice is less helpful than detailed suggestions.

  3. Leverage Core Drivers: Mention the importance of understanding and utilizing the Core Drivers of each team member. This personalizes the advice and makes it more relevant.

  4. Detail specific areas of concern: Break down your request into specific areas where you need help. This makes it easier to get focused and relevant advice.

  5. Provide context and examples: Include context or examples to make your prompt clearer and more comprehensive. This helps the AI understand the specifics of your situation.

  6. Request immediate and practical implementation: Ask for advice that can be implemented right away to see quick improvements.

Here’s an example of a good prompt to ask the AI Team Coach:

“As a manager, I’m really struggling with improving communication within my team. I feel like we’re constantly experiencing misunderstandings and miscommunications, which is leading to a lot of frustration and inefficiency.

I need actionable, non-obvious, and specific advice on how to ensure that everyone is on the same page. I want to leverage the core drivers of each team member to tailor my communication strategies effectively. For instance, some team members might be driven by achievement and recognition, while others might value security and stability. How can I use these insights to improve our team’s communication dynamics?

Here are a few areas where I need specific help:

  1. Daily Standups and Meetings: What are some innovative approaches to structure these to ensure clarity and engagement from all team members? How can I make sure everyone is heard without the meetings becoming too lengthy or unproductive?

  2. Project Updates and Reporting: How can I streamline our project updates to ensure they are clear, concise, and informative? What tools or methods can I use to cater to different communication preferences and core drivers?

  3. Conflict Resolution: What are some effective strategies for resolving misunderstandings and conflicts that arise from poor communication? How can I mediate these conflicts in a way that respects each team member’s core drivers and reduces future misunderstandings?

  4. Feedback Mechanisms: How can I set up effective feedback systems that encourage openness and constructive criticism? What are some ways to ensure feedback is given and received positively, considering the different core drivers?

  5. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: How can I improve our documentation practices to make sure important information is accessible and understandable to everyone? What are some best practices for knowledge sharing that align with different core drivers?

  6. Cultural and Personality Differences: How can I navigate the diverse cultural and personality differences within the team to improve overall communication? What strategies can help in bridging communication gaps caused by these differences?

Please provide detailed, practical advice and strategies that I can implement immediately to see an improvement in our team’s communication. I’m looking for advice that goes beyond the typical suggestions and really dives into leveraging the unique motivations and drivers of each team member. “
