DS Platform updates (October 03, ‘26)

Release notes for Oct 03, 2026 - an overview of DS Platform updates, improvements, and fixes across the product.

What’s new

SITUATIONAL JUDGMENT TESTS

Situational judgment questions present candidates with interactive controls — sliders, dials, or number tiles — instead of multiple-choice text options. Candidates make their decision by adjusting these controls directly, which captures trade-offs and prioritization in a way that feels much closer to an actual workplace decision than choosing from a list ever could.

Several Ways to Respond, Suited to Different Scenarios
A single question can include one or several of these interactive controls, chosen to fit the scenario:

  • Sliders, including a vertical bar-style option that makes it easy to compare several values side by side at a glance

  • Dials and gauges, used sparingly for scenarios where a more dashboard-like feel adds to the experience

  • Number tiles styled like a business KPI card, with an editable value and, optionally, a comparison against a target figure

Scenarios Can Include Real Supporting Material
Questions can now be built around supporting content — a reference image, a data table, or descriptive text — so the decision candidates are asked to make is grounded in concrete, realistic information rather than an abstract description. Data tables can be created by pasting directly from a spreadsheet, making it quick to build scenarios around real business figures.

Scored Consistently, However the Question Looks
Regardless of which controls a question uses, scoring works the same way behind the scenes: each response is compared against a target value that's never shown to the candidate. Depending on how the question is set up, credit is given only when every response falls within an acceptable range, or proportionally based on how close each response comes to the target — giving assessment designers flexibility in how strictly a scenario is scored.

Fully Translatable
These new interactive questions work with our existing translation tools, so labels, instructions, and any supporting data tables can be translated into any language the assessment supports, just like standard questions.

What’s improved

ADMIN - SETTINGS - ASSESSMENTS - DEMOGRAPHIC QUESTIONS

Note: For this setting to be visible, you need to enable additional questions after assessment.

  • Accounts can now fully configure the demographic questions asked after an assessment, rather than only being able to turn the whole block on or off.

  • For each standard question (age, gender, country, education, income, job level, ethnicity, occupation, industry, company), admins can choose to show or hide it, mark it as required, and hide or add individual answer choices — for example, removing income bands that don't apply, or adding their own job levels. Admins can also add entirely custom questions, either multiple-choice or free text, which behave exactly like standard ones across the assessment flow, profile page, and analytics. Every account starts with the full standard question set, unchanged, until they choose to customize it.

  • The same configured set of questions now appears consistently across the assessment itself, the user's own profile, and the admin user editor — previously each of these showed a different subset of fields.

ADMIN - ANALYTICS

  • Dashboard management has been brought onto a single page, where each dashboard can be reordered, enabled or disabled, and set as your account's platform default.

  • When creating a new dashboard, you can now pre-apply filters when a dashboard opens. You can lock a rule to enforce it for viewers.

  • Every demographic question — standard or custom — is now available as a filter and breakdown option in analytics dashboards, alongside your existing HRIS fields.

  • “Dashboard” tab has been renamed to “Overview”.

USER - CORE REASONING ASSESSMENTS

Adaptive Core Reasoning assessments (Logical, Numerical, and Verbal) no longer show a percentage-based progress bar, which could be misleading because the total number of questions isn’t fixed in advance. Instead, the progress bar now provides a clearer sense of pace, giving a more accurate picture of how far along the assessment is.

ADMIN - SETTINGS - MANAGE ROLES AND PERMISSIONS - ACCESS & VISIBILITY - BULK OPERATIONS

The "Bulk Operations" section for assigning access-control filters now lives under the Access & Visibility tab.

ADMIN - CAMPAIGNS

The campaigns filter previously labeled "All" — which didn't actually include archived campaigns — is now labeled "Active" to reflect what it actually shows.

What’s fixed

ADMIN - ALL USERS - COLUMNS

In the All Users table, longer values — like a campaign name in the "Invite Campaign" column — were previously cut off, with no way to see the full text. Hovering over any truncated value in any column now shows the full text.

ADMIN - ALL USERS - FULL PROFILE - ACCESS & TAGS - TAGS

In the Access & Tags section of a user profile, all assigned tags are now displayed.

ADMIN - ALL USERS - FULL PROFILE - USER - PERSONAL DETAILS

On a user's profile, an extra space in the First Name or Last Name field could disable the Save button when trying to update the user's email, with no explanation shown. This no longer blocks the save.
